Under Reamed Pile Foundation

An engineering marvel specifically designed for black cotton soils and expansive clays to resist heavy uplift forces.

Specialist in all types of piling works contractor in gujarat and india

Overview

Under reamed piles feature one or more "bulbs" (enlarged bases) at specific depths along the pile shaft. This provides significantly higher bearing capacity and anchorage than conventional straight-shaft piles, preventing structural shifting during seasonal soil volume changes.

Process Explanation

Initial Shaft Boring:

A straight cylindrical borehole is dug to the predetermined depth using manual or mechanical augers.

Bulb Formation:

A specialized under-reaming tool is inserted and its blades are mechanically spread. By rotating the tool, the surrounding soil is sliced off to form an enlarged bell or bulb shape.

Reinforcement & Concreting:

The hole is properly cleaned. A steel cage specifically designed to fit the straight shaft is inserted, followed by a continuous pour of concrete that fills both the bulb sections and the main shaft.
